Foundation Course For Teachers In Persian Dance

This foundation course of 30 hours is geared towards dancers wishing to become teachers of Persian dance themselves and requiring a strong teaching tecnique in order to build engaging, creative and complete multilevel classes.
We’ll work mainly on:
- How to build a floor warm up – working the hip, strengthening leg’s exercises, core work, torsions and spine/muscles elongation.
- How to built a vertical warm up: core work and spine flexibility, curves & arches borrowed from contemporary dance. Improving awareness of the upper body, turns & spyrals on the spot.
- Articulation, mobility and expressiveness of wrists, hands & fingers. Hand’s language: little choreographies only using flexible & wavy hands & fingers. Elegant and feminine arms & hands, sequences of movement connected to a story.
- Central Asian dance tecnique arms in 6 and 8 counts.
- How to built short dance sequences inspired by miniature artwork: an ongoing movement of precise & harmonious body lines.
- How to work on a diagonal: Persian mystical & contemporary turns – working on triplets (Sagam) on 6/8 rhytms – and different combination of arms
- The Goddess walk – embodying divinity
- Working on the elements (earth/air/fire/water) and how to blend them in the making of a choreography
- Poetry in motion: getting inspiration from mystical poetry of Rumi and Hafez – solo & group impro - searching for the finest movement’s quality and an original expression

A requirement to partecipate in this intensive is to create and present a couple of choreographies to the teacher.
