Choreography Workshop
(15 hours of dance + 5 of ear training)
The choreography workshop is divided in 2 parts of 10 hours each. Each portion includes 2.5 hours of live music while we are dancing, and an ear training on Persian rhythms and dastgah with a musician.
In this intensive we will work especially on expressiveness and theatrical skills such as body language, facial experession and gazing.
We’ll focus on the different nuances of emotions in a dance portrayal and how to convey the aesthetic of a sentiment.
We’ll have a musician playing in order to get acquainted to hear and understand Persian music and become familiar to improvise to live music.
Three different choreographies of intermediate/advanced level will be taught with great care of interpretative details and attentiveness to the musicality.
The ear training will be taugh by Iranian musician Vahid Hajihosseini, a santoor virtuoso and artistic director of the Toranj orchestra.
